Working in Porn

On shelf in a collection somewhere, or maybe in a storage box after an office closed down, are four VHS tapes of porn with me as one of the actors. I use the word actor in its loosest term. I had a fair amount of acting experience but nerves took hold and my “acting” was second rate soap opera worthy at best.

I was nineteen but looked older and after filming the first one I got it into my head that I could be the next big porn star and make a career out of it. I was gonna be the UK’s answer to Jeff Stryker or Adam Grant. As well as being nineteen, I was delusional.

Being utterly honest about this, I went into it knowing damn well what I was doing but that being said, I was also used. Being filmed didn’t bother me in the slightest and still doesn’t.

Of the four one-hour tapes made I was in six scenes. One in each of the first two and two in each of the last two. The first scene I did was simple. It was an audition. I was sat on sofa, talking about my life. Everything I said was lies, well not lies, it was part of the script. Scene three saw me at a gym working out and eyeing up one of the other gym goers. Eventually we fuck in the changing room. At the end of the video all seven guys who’d been in scenes fucked in the changing room, making this my fourth scene. This one was filmed in a city centre gym when it was closed. We got there at 10pm and didn’t start filming until 2am. At 7am as the gym opened we had literally just finished filming. I went home, high on the various drugs we’d been supplied, and £300 richer. This was one of the quickest scenes I filmed and a few days after all us had to get together for a photoshoot at the same gym.

Scene five saw me act as sex worker, hired by an older guy to do whatever he wanted. The scene ended with him pulling out and cumming on me. The doorbell rang and he ordered me in a trunk and locked me in. When he answers the door more guys walked in. Obviously, when he locked the box, I wasn’t actually in it. The guys that arrive have sex and then he unlocks the box, lets me out and all five guys pound me, then all cum over my face. This one was filmed at Mr. Bigs house and it was damn palatial! We were there for around eighteen hours. I filmed my scene first and then slept for a bit in one of the many huge beds, then filmed the final scene. As before, I left richer and high.

All these scenes are the same you’ll see in porn now. The scenes stay the same, only the video quality and actors change.

A few weeks later I was offered another scene and I said yes. Unfortunately, by this time, my arrogance had grown and I was now adamant I was the next big thing in porn. I was convinced tha by the time I was ready to retire every gay would know my name. So, when he told me the scene and how much I was gonna get I demanded triple what he offered. He laughed and said no and told me this new offer was £100 less than the original. My arrogance knew no bounds and I once again demand triple to original fee. He stayed very calm and clearly told me I wasn’t getting that much and that I would never work for him again.

Hanging up I thought “he’ll call back, no one can do what I do!” Of course they could! My dick wasn’t huge and my ass wasn’t unique! There was nothing special about me. He knew that, I didn’t.

I never heard from him again.

Am I sorry about that? Not al all. Filming yourself having sex with your partner is one thing, filming porn is very different. Once you’ve filmed porn it will stay with you for life. You think about it a lot and as you age and your career changes you start to think about it coming back to haunt you. It’s not that I’m ashamed of filming it, far from it, but my life has changed that now there are certain people I don’t want finding out as it’ll affect other areas of my life. I’ve often talked with Forrest about starting an OnlyFans and it appeals to me greatly but, I don’t think we’d get many subscribers as neither of us, for genuine reasons, would be able to show our faces, yet still out there are six scenes with me fucking or getting fucked, with EVERYTHING to be seen.

But all this has nothing to do with why I’m posting. I was talking with a friend about working in porn and although very limited I thought I’d pass on my worldly knowledge to you about the ups and downs (pardon the pun) and the good and bad.

It’s not what you see!
You might not believe this but are still people out there who think what happens in a porn video is almost exactly how it’s filmed. It’s not. It’s really not. One thirty minute scene can take hours to film. So, you arrive and are given your costume and often this is the first time you’ll see the script. While you’re getting changed someone is setting up the cameras and lights. Depending on where you’re filming it’s quite probable your “dressing room” is a space in the corner of the same room you’re filming. When filming the scene in the student digs my dressing room was the same dressing room for everyone – the bathroom. And that’s also where all our personal belongings were left. Once everything is set up you have a quick photoshoot, then you film the first part of the scene. Lets say the first sexual thing you do is suck cock. You have to make it look good, you have to fill it with energy and you have to stop and start while cameras are moved and a photographer snaps away. Stopping and starting isn’t that much of a problem but this will happen all the way through the shoot, making a thirty minute porno last hours.

And all that time you have to stay hard!
“Oh that’s easy! I can stay hard hours!” say some people but trust me, it takes stamina. Serious stamina! Not just because you have to stay hard but because you have to stay energetic. Get hard, fuck for a few minutes, reposition cameras, fuck some more, pause while hard and balls deep for photos, fuck some more, pause while hard and looking like you’re about to go balls deep… rinse and repeat. It long and tedious.

And sometimes all you want to do is cum!

Mr. Big will know a pharmacist. Or rather a dealer, and they’ll have access to a more extensive range of drugs. Come scene four I was tired so was offered more drugs, including cocaine. And I took it. The only reason I know what happened in that scene is because I’ve seen the final product. Other than that, I have sketchy memories of it.

So some advice!

1. When you’re think about doing this also think about the future. Especially now that the internet is so big. When I did it DVD’s were still new and the majority of porn was on VHS tapes. I’ve no doubt my porn is somewhere out there online but I’ve never found it. Someone will one day. And they will yours.
2. If you’re going to an audition, take a friend and don’t audition for free if your audition includes sex. If you’re just meeting a producer and he wants to see you hard that’s fine, but make sure they are no cameras. If there’s a camera you should either say no or get paid! Also, if you get taken on always tell a friend where you’re going and who you’re working for.
3. If you don’t want to do something then say no! If you’re willing to be in porn someone will respect your wishes! If they don’t they’re not for you!
4. Research the studio you want to work for and find the one that suits you.
5. Don’t get hung up on your body. There will be a niche or studio for you no matter what you look like. Don’t believe me? Go to a porn site and search for porn using keywords that match what YOU look lik. You’ll find it.
6. DO NOT send nudes of yourself to a studio without finding out EXACTLY who you’re sending them to and what they going to do with them. Pixelate or blank out your genitals. If they want to see what’s between your waist and knees GET A CONTRACT and get paid. If they won’t pay don’t send them.
7. And talking of contracts… get a lawyer to read it. Can’t afford one? Then don’t do porn!
8. Get tested for everything and get on prep. At some point you’ll be asked to do bareback. Most studios these days demand testing and some will pay for it.
9. Even if you’re strictly a top, be prepared to show your hole. A lot!
10. Think. Think. Think. Take time to sit down and make sure this is what you want do. It WILL follow you and you’ll think about it forever!
